Dining at Dar Assarou (7).jpg

Easily accessible by car, Dar Assarou is nestled between apple orchards in the Imlil Valley in the heart of Toubkal National Park. At 1,700m above sea level the cool air of the High Atlas mountains offers a respite from the stifling summer heat of Marrakech. In winter, deep blue skies frame the mountains that surround Dar Assarou. At the lodge, dreamy 360 degree views can be enjoyed from the roof terrace, including the best view of all - Jebel Toubkal - North Africa's highest peak. Night time is also special, on a cloud-free evening, stargazing at the lodge can be a magical experience.

One of only a handful of licenced and authorised first category accommodations in Imlil, Dar Assarou is a trusted base and trek centre for discerning walkers and trekkers from around the world. Professionally guided group and private treks can be arranged by the lodge to all regions of the High Atlas. For many, climbing Mount Toubkal is the objective. For others, spending a few days at Dar Assarou provides a chance to escape and relax. Several day walks to nearby Berber villages and valleys are possible. Here families can enjoy quality time, exploring on foot or by mule, returning to a delicious home-cooked Berber meal.
