Nkhila Lodge is a unique tented wilderness camp located on a high plateau in the heart of Marrakech's Agafay Desert. Facing the High Atlas mountains with a distant view of Mount Toubkal, guests can sleep in luxurious ensuite stargazing tents built on stilts. These romantic tents, with transparent ceilings, are situated 15 metres apart to ensure privacy, and enable a unique view of the African night sky. The camp is solar-powered and designed for guests to experience the night-time magic of Africa's dark skies. Alternatively, choose to stay in a comfortable desert nomad tent.

Candlelit meals are served directly to guests on their private balconies, al fresco, or in one of the canopy-covered wilderness dining areas. Lodge facilities include a fire pit and a stargazing deck with a telescope. The Agafay Desert is a natural adventure playground. A popular daytime activity from the lodge is a camel ride to the adobe village of Douar Nkhila and its palm oasis. Head out on foot on a guided desert walk to a nearby river valley and beyond. Or head out of camp to ride a quad bike on one of the distant Agafay desert trails. Nkhila Lodge's desert cooking school runs daily workshops for guests who like to cook!

Getting There
Located 1.5 km from Douar Nkhila, on the east side of the Agafay Desert, south of Marrakech (1 hour from the Medina, 35 km by 4x4 vehicle); nearest airport is Marrakech Menara (45 minutes by 4x4 vehicle, 29 km). Douar Nkhila can be reached from the east after crossing the N'fis river, or from the north west (Agafay village) by following desert tracks. GPS Coordinates: 31°25'19.1"N 8°09'39.0"W.
